Hello -

The following note is from Anne Murphy of the CRC:

Back in April in my talk to DMTU, I spoke about a project CRC was
> completing to eliminate a source of uncontrolled stormwater discharging to
> the fly fishing stretch of Ridley Creek below the Bishop Hollow Road Bridge
> at the Toft Woods Community, just up the road on Bishop Hollow Rd..
>
> The Toft detention basin has been completely redone so that it holds back
> the 1 and 2 year storms - up to a four inch rainstorm, and hopefully a lot
> of it infiltrates and transpires while it is being held, avoiding erosion
> and sedimentation to Ridley Creek. It has been seeded with native mixes and
> some addlt plugs will also help evapotranspiration.
>
> I was hoping to get a few volunteers to help me plant plugs in the TW
> basin. One possible date is Sat Sept 8th. I was hoping to get some
> pictures of TU volunteers for the Delaware Estuary program/National Fish
> and Wildlife Foundation web site at the time. We would start at 9 AM and
> be done by 10 AM. Knee boots are recommended, since part of the basin has
> a few inches of standing water. A few of the TW residents who are
> physically able will be helping.
>
> If anyone is able to help, can you please have them notify me?

If you are interested in helping with this project, please email Anne
